Plano is a city in Collin County and Denton County, Texas, United States. It had a population of 285,494 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Plano has a total area of 71.6 square miles (185.5 km2).

Plano is about 17 miles (27 km) from Downtown Dallas, Plano is the 9th largest city in Texas and the 71st largest in the United States. Of the 99,131 households, 35.8% had children under the age of 18.
